Our thoughts are with Michael’s family at this time, what a wonderful person he was. We felt lucky and privileged that we got to know him in those later years of his life. He and Grace were so welcoming and kind to us from the moment we met them. Michael was also so good to our son, he was generous as a mentor teaching him chess for his Duke of Edinburgh award. He took the time each week to show him the moves, tactics and even set homework to research before their next game. We will all miss him dearly and remember him with great fondness. I was particularly sorry to miss the beautiful service celebrating Michael’s life but I was so glad I could see the photos shared on the day. The gallery chosen, truly captured the joy and love that surrounded Michael throughout his life. Such wonderful memories that convey his his warm personality. Thank you for sharing them with those of us who didn’t know him for as long. You’re in our thoughts, sending love and hugs, especially to Grace, we hope you can take comfort in the memories you shared with Michael over your happy life together.
